Tufts University 塔夫斯大學創立於1852年，是依據Tufts University 塔夫斯大學的創始者 Charles Tifts 所命名，唯一所私立的綜合性大學。Tufts University 塔夫斯大學位於麻州 Medford 市，人口約6萬人的城市，除了擁有以風景秀麗的Mystic湖聞名的水鄉之城之美稱，且距離教育首府波士頓僅20分鐘車程。由於地利之便，Tufts University 塔夫斯大學鄰近波士頓大學、哈佛大學與麻省理工學院等一級名校，在生活及學術研究上都相當的便利。
