ECON 201. Introduction to Microeconomics
An introduction to microeconomic principles including the study of price theory, economic scarcity, consumer behavior, production costs, the theory of the firm, market structure and income distribution. Other topics
covered include market failure, international economics and public finance.

MTH 245. Mathematics for Management Life and Social Sciences
Learn techniques of counting, probability and elements of statistics including binomial and normal distributions. Introductory matrix algebra and elements of linear programming will also be covered.

BA 211. Financial Accounting
Gain invaluable accounting knowledge from an insider's perspective, looking principally at how investors and creditors use accounting in business. The course will focus on the preparation and interpretation of financial
statements, income recognition and determination and asset valuation.

BA 213. Managerial Accounting
Study accounting from the perspective of users in management. The module has a particular focus on data accumulation for product costing, planning and performance evaluation and control.

BA 276. Introduction to Statistical Inference
This introductory level statistics course covers data analysis and statistical inference, with an emphasis on business applications. Also covered will be descriptive statistics, random variables, probability distributions, sampling and sampling distributions and statistical inference for means and proportions.

BA 233. Legal Environment of Business
This course focuses on the interdependent and often complex relationship of law and business in modern U.S. society. Obligations arising out of agency and employment law, contract formation and breach, warranty and criminal and tort law will all be covered.

BA 352. Managing Individual and Team Performance
The roles of the individual and the team can significantly affect performance within business. This module will cover individual and team behavior and focus on professional skill development and the practical application of theory and research. Concepts of ethics, diversity and cross-cultural relations will also be covered.

BA 360. Introduction to Financial Management
Explore the issues facing a financial manager in new business ventures, small businesses and corporations. You will focus on the role of the financial manager in business settings, exploring his/her function in areas including: financial analysis, forecasting, planning and control, asset and liability management, capital budgeting and raising funds.

BA 357. Operations Management
Learn about the importance of decision making in managing the production of goods and services, covering product planning, process planning, facility planning, control of quantity, cost and quality. Special emphasis will be placed on exponential forecasting, inventory management, work methods, project management, productivity improvement and international comparisons.

BA 390. Marketing
This module aims to provide you with an understanding of distribution processes, marketing problems and general marketing principles. Consumer and industrial markets — as well as the activities and enterprises involved in distributing products to those markets — will also be explored.

Academic English
This program teaches students how to express themselves fully in English and how to understand others. Both written and spoken language will be covered with the chief aim of ensuring success in an academic setting.

ALS 150. Academic Reading and Writing
Designed to provide international and/or immigrant students substantive practice in reading and writing English at the advanced level. Students are expected to read, understand and discuss a variety of academic readings from the natural and physical sciences, the social sciences, the humanities and literature. Students will work on reading skills; vocabulary acquisition; library and research skills; paraphrasing and summarizing; and the organization, style and development of essays.

ALS 151. Academic Listening and Speaking
Skill building to develop and improve comprehension and notetaking of lectures in an academic format. Students required to give individual and group presentations including informational, argumentative and persuasive presentations. Instruction is given in crosscultural communications styles, non-verbal communication, questioning techniques and clarifying information.

ALS 162. Reading and Writing in Academic Content Areas
Provides advanced practice in reading and writing with academic texts and is designed to help students move into college work. Assignments include extensive information searches, writing bibliographies, critiques of articles/readings, practice with essay exams and a short research paper.

COMM 111. Public Speaking
Public communication as it relates to informative and persuasive discourse. The theory and practice of public speaking in informative and persuasive contexts.

WR 121. English Composition
Introduction to critical thinking, the writing process and the forms of expository writing. Intensive writing practice, with an emphasis on revision.
